Loved the place, had a VERY PLEASANT stay for the first night in advance. Our king room was complete with a private bathroom, shower plus comfortable beds. Extremely helpful and very friendly staff, gave a lot of information. This accommodation was in the central location convenient to transfer at Sendliger Tor for U-Bahn. Popped in Paulaner Braeuhaus for shots before sleep, it was not very far from the venue.
Some of the staff were not so good.

It was clean and only a mile walk to the city center of Munich. The breakfast was good-typical German breakfast.
It was expensive for a family of 4. Not a good value for our money. The listing said 105 Euro for 3 people and it cost an additional 20 Euro to add a small cot for my 9 year old son for a total of 125 Euro. That is more expensive than what we paid in London per night-and London is known for being expensive. Would not have paid that but we were traveling with friends and they picked the hotel.

The room is simple yet functional with its own private bathroom, and the location is fantastic, just a few minutes away from a large green park.

The staff was very nice. They serve a very generous breakfast. There were always semmels (breakfast rolls) with butter and jams, a plate of meats and cheeses, and a boiled egg was available (tea/coffee as well). One morning there was a plate of salmon in addition to the regular fare, and another morning there was another extra dish that was good (wasn't familiar with it). Hotel Pension Haydn is clean and well taken care of, and about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of Munich. It is located in an apartment-type building. Our room (for 4 people) was very large and we had a large bathroom w/tub. I would call it serviceable - certainly not luxurious.

Impeccably clean hotel in a beautiful building very close to Munich and Budapest airport. Unbeatable, handy location for the Oktoberfest festival. - Excellent for visiting a huge grassy park. - Functional room, comfortable bed, and flexible staff. - Enjoyed the view of the garden from my window.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the shared shower/toilet rooms were also clean. Price was good for the quiet location within a short walking distance to the city center.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we read a sign asking us to call a phone number in order to check in. This was a little inconvenient, as we were only carrying our American cell-phone for emergencies (prices per minute were very high), and I know many American travelers in Europe do not carry cell phones at all. This particular phone call was the only time we needed to use our phone in our 16 days in Europe. Aside from that, the shower head in our shared shower room was slightly dysfunctional - it did not stay upright on its pole, so I had to manually hold it up over my head.
